Thank you for writing about this very interesting Pole. I believe I visited that cathedral when I was 11, spending a month in Poland with my parents. At that age, I was not impressed.
I was dragged to so many historic sites and museums during my childhood. I didn't really appreciate it until later in life, but I'm grateful to my parents for doing so. As far as Polish culture goes, where would the world be without JPII, Georges Charpak, Joseph Conrad, or Ray Manzarek, among many others?
