The other day I posted a picture of The Right Reverend Samuel Seabury [1729-1796], the first bishop of The Episcopal Church* and of Connecticut, that garnered some comments.

As was noted by the correspondents, in the portrait he looks condescending, corpulent, and generally unpleasant.
