A Brief History of the Christmas Tree

There are a lot of stories about what we have come to recognize as the Christmas tree. I wish most of them were true.

Was it a pagan symbol? Sorta, in that all trees and most parts of nature were.

Is it in reference to the rod of Jesse in Isaiah 11:1? Only retroactively, when people were looking for some Biblical justification for a tree’s use.
